Cowley College uses the Accuplacer test for placement testing. There are three sections: math, reading and writing. The test is not timed (average time per test is 45 minutes). Practice tests, sample questions and test-taking tips can be found on the Accuplacer website.
Before testing, you must apply at cowley.edu/apply to receive a Cowley College ID. Students will be charged a $25 proctoring fee if scores are to be sent to another institution.

The Accuplacer placement tests can be taken at a local testing center near you. You will need to contact a Cowley College admissions representative to coordinate with the testing center of your choice so a voucher can be created. If there aren’t any available testing centers within reason, the test can be administered and proctored online, via zoom, for a small fee. This will also need to be coordinated with a Cowley College admissions representative. Please contact us at admissions@cowley.edu or 620-442-0430.
The Accuplacer Companion Test is a paper/pencil version of Accuplacer. In order to take this test, student must have a copy of documented disability. Please contact Disability Services at 620-441-5557 or jim.brown@cowley.edu to schedule your test.
